Saturday, April 16, 2005 Taxi riding with chye huat is damn fun.Met up with chye huat, kops and BH for soccer today. We decided to take a cab to the destination as i only know the address but didnt know how to go there. Turned out the taxi driver was pretty clueless about the venue as so was I. When i first boarded the cab i told him 'ayer rajah hawker' which he didnt know where because he needed to know the 'road name'. Dumbass thought i was trying to play some game with him not telling him the road name and persistently bugged me for the road name 'i can't go there without the road name'. Despite me telling him that it was BLOCK 500+ NEAR CLEMENTI STADIUM and that it was probably worth a try to TRY FINDING NO ? Not like there are too many block 500+ nearby the stadium ? Quite reluctantly he attempted to fetch us there. Halfway the journey during a traffic light stop, he was quite tulan and told me to tie my seatbelt. i was sitting beside him. Him: Tie your seatbelt Me: *ties seatbelt. Continues driving, then a little while more. Chye Huat: Qiu, you see your right side 45 degrees downwards. Me: *turns my head but nv see anything funny leh. Then i saw the 3310 model HP the taxi driver was using, maybe he thought it was funny that he's using such an old model. Me: Huh ? I dun get it Chye Huat: his seatbelt lah I turned my head and saw that his seatbelt was not on. Fucker told me to tie my seatbelt when his wasnt! Me: oooo.. Chye Huat: ya la, he ownself never tie ask u to tie..ah..some pple don't practice what they preach ar Trying desperately to control my laughter. The taxi driver obviously heard but didnt show any signs of acknowledging. But he did on his damn radio fucking loud after that exchange as show of some defiance i guess. And yes..he did manage to find the place eventually. The cab fare was 5.90. It was not long after we found out that the place was actually within 10 minutes walking distance from clementi interchange. Fools R Us. And met up with KW for dinner just now. Went to Kino and finally bought Battle Royale..after months of futile waiting for the book from Miki. |
